Fulham DFC brushed aside Barnet DFC to place themselves in the quarter finals of the EDF cup.

It took 10 minutes for Fulham to open the scoring against a Barnet side who bizarrely started off with ten men on the pitch.

Daniel Hogan playing in a defensive midfield role provided 3 assists while Daniel Waller, playing in an attacking midfield role got himself 3 goals.

Waller’s first two goals were headers. They were relatively simple as they come but the pinpoint crosses from Hogan, the second coming from a free kick, along with the positioning and timing of Waller made the first two goals of the game a joy to watch.

It wasn’t long before Hogan found himself on the score sheet when Jacob Willis was brought down inside the area, Hogan scoring the resulting penalty.

Willis followed up with a goal of his own when Saul Alison provided a cutting through ball for Willis to receive. The second goal from Willis was a well taken long range shot, right after he had won the ball back from one of Barnet’s defenders.

The following three goals after half time arrived as a result of Barnet failing to clear the ball in goalmouth scrambles.

Sam Arnold, Fil Kamps and Daniel Waller all pounced on loose balls to have the final say in these goalmouth scrambles with Sam Arnold’s powerful strike outside the area being the best of the bunch.

While Arnold and Kamps may have filled their quota of scoring once every blue moon, striker Lee Farrell made his return from injury with a goal after rounding the keeper.

The final goal came from Ross Ward making a cameo appearance, providing a cross (or a shot depending on who you ask) from the left wing which looped over the goalkeeper.

Next week Fulham return to league action against rivals Ashtead FC, whether Fulham can keep recent results going remains to be seen. Fulham will definitely remain as focused as ever in their quest for promotion and the versatility of the squad will no doubt boost their chances
