England Deaf
Football Plate Cup Quarter-Final

Cardiff City DFC v Fulham DFC

The FDFC squad made a long trip to
Cardiff on a glorious sunny morning and arrived at an excellent facility next
to Cardiff City FC stadium to meet the Gaffer, fresh from a wedding party the
night before at Miskin Manor, Cardiff. FDFC had assembled in the valleys to
take on Cardiff City Deaf in the quarterfinal of England Deaf Football Plate
Cup.

The game was played on a fine, wide
pitch, which suited the Whites. FDFC were quick out of the blocks, Jacob Willis
scoring a goal in the 2nd minute of the match, and continued in that
vein with three more goals for Willis along with two goals each from Evans and
Hogan to give FDFC an 8-0 lead at the interval.

At half time, the Gaffer expressed has
dissatisfaction with the way FDFC was playing their football and urged his lads
to treat the match as a proper game, and not as a training session!

The second half proved to be similar
to the first, with FDFC scoring another nine goals, but disappointingly
conceding two. The final list of scorers saw Jacob ‘Speedster’ Willis and ‘Del
Boy’ Hogan with 5 goals each, with Joe Wylde completing a three-way contest for
the match ball with a second half hat-trick. Captain Marvel Evans ended with
two goals in the match, with Swift and Gregory adding the icing on the finish
with a goal each towards the end of the game.

The delighted Whites
Gaffer declared his satisfaction with the result praised the team’s attitude to
continue playing. The Gaffer stated that it is important to respect the England
Deaf Cup Plate competition, the semi-finals of which will be held on Sunday 17th
of April, when the Whites make the journey over the Thames to take on Barnet
DFC.
